Pack N Board was founded on a love of travel, and the passion we have for the art of what we call « the Pack and Board. » This is a philosophy that sits at the very root of our company, and it is important to consider (for both seasoned and newer travelers) what might be your essential items.
If you could leave in a plane to go anywhere in the world in 20 minutes, what would you bring with you? Charlotte and I considered this question and put together our best « pack and board » bags. See if you might agree with our essential choices.
Charlotte’s essential carry-on
Staying organized is the main idea, and with modular packing aids like the Mesh Shoe Sack by Eagle Creek, or Alife’s Pelican Pouch getting your essentials into your bag is no hassle. Charlotte’s Pack and Board bag could go almost anywhere in the world not requiring a snowjacket. Inside we find:
- Jeans and a t-shirt
- Light sweater
- Eye cover by Go Travel
- Passport (case by Alife Design)
- Comfortable walking/running shoes
- Luggage lock (by Samsonite)
- A brightly colored luggage tag (also Alife Design)
- A toiletry bag (pelican pouch by Alife Design) holding:
- change of socks and skivvies
- toothbrush and toothpaste
- deodorant and body spray
- a foldable hairbrush
- face wipes
In a pinch, this kind of bag would reasonably sustain your comfortable traveling for a couple days, and even if you are not hopping spontaneously onto a plane, these items are great to carry with you in case your larger luggage bag goes missing (as we have experienced too often).
Jordan’s Pack and Board bag:
In a world where I was having a cup of tea, and suddenly bought the next plane out of town, this is what my bag would likely look like. Note that Charlotte and I do indeed have matching passport covers and eyeshades – just living that fashionable Pack and Board lifestyle.
Featuring a less organized method we like to call the « Pack and run » this backpack has space for these essentials:
- Flannel (likely to be worn on the plane)
- Change of socks and skivvies
- An agenda
- A notebook/sketchbook
- A book for reading
- Digital camera (with extra memory card)
- Passport (matching pink cover)
- Eye shade by Go Travel
- Items not pictured:
- Portable phone charger
- Extra camera battery
- Deodorant, toothbrush and toothpaste
- Face wipes
- James, the dog
And there you have it. We hope you feel inspired to get out on the road. When you don’t need much, you can really go anywhere. Bon Voyage Travelers !
